today - we took a step forward.
at some point you have to stand for something, often times doing the right thing is not the popular thing but it is still the right thing - regardless of consequences.
i am proud to be apart of this historic day for my mixed raced daughters - who are native american, filipino, indonesian, scandinavian, french - among others.
i am proud to see us progress as a country with representation of not just a woman as our next vp - but a representation of what makes our country special with a woman of a multicultural background.
wishing for things to always be how they were is comfortable - its natural to want this, but if we do not welcome change and the uncertainty that comes with it we will never grow as human beings - never see what we are capable of.
we need to go forward not backwards - we need to never forget all the difficulties and triumphs that has made up the history of our country and the planet - we need to embrace them all - good and bad - learn from them so we can make it better and secure for our children and future generations to come.

thats ok, we are all on the same ship - if we stay afloat or if we sink…
