crossroads blues - a tribute to & honoring the birthday of mr. robert johnson (may 8th, 1911)

legend has it a young man from rural mississippi aspired to rise above the hand he was dealt and become more than just another plantation hand - though he lacked the rhythm & blues to hold the stage, he was casted out and ignored by the men he looked up to…

he vanished, for some say around a year or so, no one noticed or missed him - they say when the young kid reappeared at the blues houses he was laughed outta of…he cast a spell over the crowd with his cords that left everyone in disbelief that he was the same kid that was hanging around not long before.

they say that his vast improvement over the guitar was inhuman - and the only explanation was the supernatural.

during that missing year a deal was made - robert in his wandering heard of a place - a place that crosses paths and at the dead of night, where only your heartbeat is the sound you hear - you can meet a man and that man will grant you a wish…for a price.

robert johnson inspired and gave us a gift that will continue to contribute to not only music for generations but story telling
he sold his soul for immortality and we honor and thank him for his sacrifice
